Proctor Area Youth Baseball

Proctor Area Youth Baseball (PAYB) oversees both recreational summer baseball as well travel/tournament team baseball for area youth.

We host in-house leagues for Big Bat and Coach Pitch baseball, and are a member of Quad City/Northland Big League for Minors and up.

Ages

Players must be at least 3 years old on May 1st of upcoming season.

For example, for 2026 players born on or after May 1st, 2023 would be ineligible.

When

Indoor Practices usually start the first Sunday of January for Majors level and up. Minors will start at a later time.

Games usually start in May depending weather and go through mid to late August

Modified:

Early Bird: $250

After 2/1: $275

After 3/1: $300

Majors:

Early Bird: $225

Where

Outdoor practices and Home Games are held at Klang Park, Pike Lake, and Twig Field.

Practices

League level practices are held every Sunday, location varies by level.

Team practice schedule is determined by coaching staff.

Games

Teams usually play two games per week, on either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday depending on level.

UNIFORM

Hats and Jerseys are provided by PAYB at no additional cost.

Players are expected to have White Baseball Pants, Green Belt, and Green Socks for game uniform. There is no additional requirement for cleats, glove, batting gloves, sliding mitt, etc.

GEAR

All players are expected to have their own helmet, molded cleats (no metal spikes), athletic protector, bat, and glove.

Bats should have a USSSA or USA stamp and follow appropriate guidelines for your athlete's level of play.

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

As with past seasons we require families with athletes in the Coach Pitch and above levels to meet certain volunteer requirements. 

Volunteers are the backbone of this league. The hours contributed by all of you help us keep entrance fees low and allow us to invest funds into continue making league improvements.

At the start of the season, we will be asking each family (except those participating at the Big Bat Wiffle level) to give PAYB a check that covers their volunteer time, prior to their jerseys being handed out. The "volunteer fee" will be $125 for Coach Pitch families & $250 for all other levels, but will not be cashed if all volunteer time is completed. 

New as of 2025 Season: The Head Coach and one Assistant Coach of every team will not be required to complete shifts for their regular season requirements. The expectation is that the coaches will help with field maintenance before or after their games when necessary.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can my child move up?

We do allow for some athletes to move up a level depending on a number of factors. You will have an opportunity to express interest in this option during registration.

If I have multiple children in PAYB, do I need to volunteer more?

No, the volunteer hours are on a per-family basis and determined by the top level of play one of your children is in.

Summer 2026

Register for PAYB Summer 2026 Rec League here. 

Please note: There are small transaction fees associated with registration, so you will see a higher final price at checkout. If you choose to pay via ACH the fees are lower.

If you have multiple children you are registering this year, choose "1st/Only Child" for the first child you register, then "Additional child" for each one after.

If you pay in full before February 1st, 2026 there is a $50 discount per registration for all levels at Coach Pitch and above. 

From February 1st to February 28th the paid in full discount will be $25 per registration.

From March 1st on all registrations will be full price.

Payment plans are offered without the discount in three installments, with the first coming when you register, the second on February 1st, 2026, and the third on March 1st, 2026.
