Baseball Instruction by Ben Haugen

Ben Haugen, former Esko High School’s Head Coach, will be offering individual and small group baseball instruction this summer and beyond to youth in the area. Instruction will be tailored to fit the athlete’s needs and can include any aspect: hitting, pitching, fielding, mental approach, or whatever else is needed to foster growth in the sport.

Coach Haugen has 31 years of experience as a baseball coach, 24 as a Head Varsity Coach. In addition to coaching at the high school level, Ben has also coached junior high and all levels of little league. The net result is experience coaching athletes that range from 6 year olds playing baseball for the first time to standout high school players who have gone on to play at the highest levels of college ball. As a Junior High and High School Math Teacher, Coach Haugen will bring an educational and holistic approach to teaching the game. Including the mental aspect, athletic and healthy movement patterns, and a work ethic needed to reach one’s potential.

Instruction will begin with a 30-minute, one-on-one session to assess the athlete and then a follow up with the family to formulate a plan. From there sessions can be individual or in a small group setting and can occur at any frequency and any duration as the family deems appropriate. Session locations, dates, and times are flexible and will be discussed upon inquiry for the training.

Fee Structure:

• Initial 30 minute Assessment: $25

• Individual Sessions

• 30 minute One-On-One Sessions: $50

• Group Sessions

• 45 minute Two-On-One Sessions: $80 ($40 per athlete)

• 60 minute Three-On-One Sessions: $105 ($35 per athlete)
